What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal uses technology in which a beam of light is applied to unwanted hair on various parts of the body. This light is a specific wavelength that targets the melanin—the pigment in the hair that gives it color, in the hair follicle.
When the light enters the follicle, it is converted to heat energy that destroys or inactivates the follicle, preventing the hair from growing again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Laser hair removal employs advanced technology wherein a focused beam of light is directed at undesired hair across different body regions. This light is of a precise wavelength designed to zero in on the melanin—the pigment responsible for the color of the hair—in the hair follicle. As the light penetrates the follicle, it transforms into heat energy, effectively eliminating or rendering the follicle inactive, thus hindering future hair growth. The treatment duration is fairly quick depending on the treatment area ranging from 15-30 mins long.
